Grilling Safety Tips

With the warmer weather upon us, many will be spending more time outside using their grills. Use these helpful safety tips below to ensure you’re keeping your family and friends safe!

  1. Only use your grill outside. Keep it at least 3 feet from siding, deck rails, and eaves.

  2. Keep a 3-foot safe zone around your grill. This will keep children and pets safe.

  3. Open your gas grill before lighting it.

  4. Keep an eye on your grill, fire pit, patio torches, or anything else with a flame or ignition source.

  5. Clean your grill after each use. This helps remove grease that can start a fire. Be sure to check for any stray wires from grill brushes or use non-wire brushes for your grill.

  6. Place any coals from your grill in a metal can with a lid once they have cooled.
